And Yet More

Day 75; Project 365

I was wondering around the house wondering what I could take a photo of on this day when, just for fun, I snapped a photo of my iMac desk top. I thought, well if nothing else it'd be kind of fun to see if the photo I took a few days ago would look just as cool as a photo of itself. What I didn't realize at the time but did soon after is the reflections caught in the monitor. If you look closely you can see the chair, the lamp, the window. I thought it was kind of cool so it became my daily photo.

Reflecting

Day 74; Project 365

This photo was taken after a good rain. I grabbed up the camera and walked outside and snapped a few shots hoping to get some rain drops. Instead I got this cool reflection of the trees in our front yard off my truck.

Neck and Neck

Day 73; Project 365

On this day, dh and I just wanted to get out of the house. We've been so busy getting ready for our new additions arrival that we haven't been anywhere. Our original plan was to hit a local park. However, it was pouring down rain. So instead we went out to lunch, delicious mexican (first mexican I've had in over 8 monthes. I know! But it's true!) and then we drove out to where the new baseball stadium is under construction.

So day 73's image is a far away shot of the new minor league baseball field under construction close to my house. It's for the minor league baseball team the Gwinnett Braves who will kick off their inaugural season about the same as my due date. We're in a heated race to see who reaches completion first.

The shot could be better, but it was raining that day and this was as close as we could get.

Ever Elusive

Day 72; Project 365

Ever since starting this Project 365 I've attempted to photograph still life. Still life in the form of fruit. You always see the beautiful fruit bowls right? Well, I've always thought my attempts at capturing the beauty, the colors, the magic have failed miserably. This photo is no exception.

Seriously, I think it could be better. But it made today's shot because it was the best photo of the day. Not that it's so terrible, but it could be better. I just think I'll keep trying my hand at this particular shot.

Too Cute

Day 71: Project 365

I'd love to say I knitted this baby hat. But I didn't. It was a gift from a friend along with a matching sweater. It was just so cute I had to take a few photos of it. The photo doesn't do it justice.

As always, if you want to see a clearer, bigger image of the photo just click the photo. It'll take you to my Flickr page where my Project 365 photos are calling home.

The Tall and Short of It

Day 70: Project 365

Another meh photo but the best of the day. We picked up these clay jars on St. George Island while on a family vacation. Since our remodeling efforts, these guys have a new home. They've moved upstairs.

Even though this is a meh photo, there is one thing I like about it. The depth perception is off. The red and blue jar is much shorter and fatter than the solid blue jar. But the image is horribly out of focus. I did my best to fix it but just couldn't manage.

Hmmm....

Day 69: Project 365

We all have good days and bad days right? Well last week I had several bad ones all in a row. I couldn't take a good picture for nothing. Sorry, but this is the best shot I could manage on day 69.

It's the smellies from my potpourri dish.

Watching Diligently

Day 68: Project 365

I was wandering around the house aimlessly while searching for something to photograph that would represent my day when I spied one of my cats sitting up in the open window. It was an incredibly nice day so the windows were up so we could enjoy the weather and our cats love it when the windows are open. So I snapped a few photos.

After I saw this one, something told me it needed to be black and white so that's what I did. I used the black and white filter and I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.

Buddin Out

(Click image to see a larger version)

Day 67; Project 365

This day was so hectic. I was running around cleaning the house like a crazy person, putting final touches up in the nursery and getting ready for my in-laws visit that afternoon. I literally only had about 5 minutes of down time.

So when I glanced out of the window and saw the buds on the trees I grabbed my camera and ran out side for a few quick shots. I'm actually amazed at how good this one turned out.

It's hard to believe that the exact same time this photo was taken, a week earlier a winter storm was dumping 4-6 inches of snow on a good part of North Georgia.

Proper Lady

Day 66; Project 365

Sorry. I had this uploaded yesterday and thought I'd posted it. Appears I only saved a draft and never actually hit post. So I'm remedying that now and hitting post.

This photo is a little different. It's not perfect and that's why I like it. I haven't done anything to this shot, other than snap the shot and upload it. However, I really like it. The image isn't in frame, the flash totally blows out the background and yet... I don't know. This photo just grabs me.

This is one of my dolls. I've had her for many many years. Now her new home is in the nursery where she is sitting and waiting for her new owner to arrive.

Across The Lake

Day 65; Project 365

On Day 65 I was driving home from work and traffic was backed up so far that I was literally at a stand still over Buford Dam. As I sat there looking around, I decided to whip out my camera and take a few photos. This one turned out pretty good.

I give you the still very drought stricken Lake Sidney Lanier. You can see in this photo how low the water still remains, despite the rain fall we've been getting, the lake needs a lot more. Heck, the entire area needs a lot more.

Looking Up

Day 64; Project 365

You may be thinking I'm cheating here. That maybe I took this picture on the same day as day 63. Well, I did not. This is actually the following day and the sky was still amazing. What struck me most on my drive in this day was the clouds more so than the actual skyline as in my previous day's shot. They were soft and fluffy and just gorgeous. I had to take another photo.

Rise and Shine

Day 63; Project 365

This is another shot from my work parking lot. I was struck by the color's of the sunrise and so I snapped a few photos. I typically get to work early and seeing the sunrise is definitely one of the perks of my schedule.

Waiting

Day 62; Project 365

Spent some time in the nursery (What else is new, right?!) and took a few shots of the progress being made there and this one came out pretty good. I received this pink puppy from a friend, and I think the contrast between it and the brown is really cool.

I know I've been spending a lot of time in the nursery and will have more photos to post, the good news is we're almost there!

Hanging Around

Day 61; Project 365

I was snapping some photos of the nursery, you know trying to document the process and all the progress we've made there, when I took this one. It's part of the mobile and I think it's just adorable.

Seeing the room finally start to come together gives me a sense of accomplishment and relieves a level of stress that I'd been carrying around. I wouldn't be surprised if a few more nursery pictures didn't make the photo of the day. Like I said, I've been documenting the transformation. It's been fun, as well as very time consuming. So a lot of days lately I take a lot of photos of the nursery.

Missed It

Day 60; Project 365

This is the best shot I took out of a handful. On Day 60 we down here in the south were hit with a late winter storm. Several neighboring counties/cities were hit pretty hard with a lot of snow accumulation. But all we got was ran and snow fall, nothing stuck.

The tiny specs in the photo are the rain / snow droplets. I couldn't get a clearer shot. But this is my front yard after a few hours of the snow falling down. As you can see, nothing was sticking anywhere.

Top of the World

Day 59; Project 365

Or at least top of the diaper cake! I love this photo because I love the diaper cake. My sister-in-law made this cake for me. It's just adorable. The bear on top just makes this for me.

Cotton Candy

Day 58; Project 365

OK, so this isn't really cotton candy. But the colors sort of remind me of cotton candy. I bought this yarn a few weeks ago to do another knitting project, another burp cloth to tell the truth, and it's just been sitting on my desk. I haven't had the time to start another project. Especially since I have to finish the blanket.

But after admiring the colors for awhile and not moving forward with starting that project, I decided I'd try to capture the image and colors that I see when I look at the yarn. I will eventually get around to the knitting, but for now I'll take comfort in the knowledge the yarn has been used for some good.

Our Place

Day 57; Project 365

I've always liked Chili's. But since I've been pregnant there's just no beating Chili's salsa. It is divine. I wouldn't say that I've craved any specific food. Nothing stands out as anything I have to have, or want, over and over. However, if you've never had Chili's salsa you should try it.

Hubby and I have started a sort of routine. After our baby classes we stop at Chili's for a late dinner. And as you might can guess, it always starts off with some of their chips and salsa.

Editing to add: For some reason the image looks a bit fuzzy here on the blog. I can't figure it out because it's not fuzzy anywhere else.

I Love Lamp

Day 56; Project 365

I love this lamp. I love the colors, I love the style, I just love it. So much in fact, I have two of them. And best of all, we got them for a steal of a deal. It's one of the first items we purchased when started the whole home renovations. I still think it's as awesome now as it was then.

Part Deux

Day 55; Project 365

Maybe I have developed a fascination with blinds. I'm not sure. But here's another photo of blinds. Or looking through blinds. Although not shot at my home. This photo was taken at work. The site caught my eye one morning and I had to try my hand taking a few photos. You can see the sunrise in the background and the bare branches of the trees stretching out.

I did do some slight sharpening of the image and noise reduction.
