I love this photo. It's an early morning shot of Lake Lanier, GA. I took it from my window while driving across the dam. To me the image looks kind of dreamy. Almost as if you're looking through a portal toward the future. I thought about not using this shot because it is kind of blury, but to me that adds to the essence of the photo and is one of the reasons I like it so much.

Bright Light
Not the best photo in the world, but something about the flare of the sunlight makes me really like this photo. I think its the different colors bouncing off the flare of light. This one is not an iPhone photo for a change. I took this with my Olympus when me and the family went to Amicalola Falls for a picnic back this summer. It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time.

Blue Day
I thought the contrast of the blue sky and the green tree tops was lovely so I snapped a shot. Not a cloud in the sky on this day.
I'm really pleased with the way this photo came out. It was snapped using my iPhone camera. No enhancements or touch ups.

Budding Weed
Another trip to Sims Lake Park gives this photo. Isn't it funny how sometimes even the weeds can be pretty. I think there's a lesson to be learned in there.

Skyward
Another iPhone photo. I took this one while driving in to work one morning. I love watching the sky and clouds. They are always changing and you never know what you view you might see next.
Sorry for the brief posts. I'm just trying to catch up a little bit.

Working From Home
I enjoy my work from home days. They mean spending more time with my wonderful baby girl. Proud Mama? Who Me?

Look To The Sky
This shot was taken from my iPhone. Which I've come to take a lot of my daily shots using this device. Some of the photos have turned out really, surprisingly well. Like this one. This was taken on one my first days back to work after my maternity leave. The sky was gorgeous and blue and so was I because I really wanted to be home with my baby.
Anyway, back to the iPhone photo part of the post. I've been trying to take better photos using the phone camera. I think it's doable I just have to keep at it. There's so many apps available as well. But first to master the camera in the phone itself to see what it can do.

Rock
Ha, I guess my title is self explanatory. Or maybe it should say, lots of rock.
Anyway, on this day the family loaded up in the Sport Trac and made the trek north. We went to Tallulah Gorge GA State Park for the day. This is a shot of some of the rocks that line a section of the Shortline Rail Trail, the old railway line that is now a nice paved walking trail. This was a great day spent with the family. After a short hike we found a nice cozy spot over looking the gorge and had a picnic. Just thinking about it makes me wan to get back out there.

Rainbow Fountain
OK, lame title I know. But I couldn't think of anything more clever. This was yet another trip to Sims Lake Park. The fountain was on and I tried really hard to capture the rainbow it cast. Looks like I made it.
Light the Way
After putting my daughter to bed one night, I was walking down the hallway and just happened to glance down at the night light. I thought the light and the shadows it cast were pretty interesting and so I snapped a few photos. This one turned out pretty neat. I really like the soft glow the light casts.

A Daisy A Day
First, I love this photo.
This was another family trip to Sims Lake Park. A local park near the homestead. As we were walking along, I saw the one, lone daisy and snapped a photo.
Once I saw the color version I just knew it was going to be my photo for the day. I just loved the tilt of the image. However, once I started toying with it and applied a black and white filter, the sharp contrast of the white petals really stood out. So I had to go with that version of the photo as my daily photo.

Sweet
Is anyone surprised that I'm uploading another photo of my daughter?
This is one of the cutest little outfits. She looks so good in blue; it highlights her blue eyes. But being me, I was just snapping some photos and decided to try for a little different angle and then was drawn in by the 'sweet' tag and just tried to capture some images of it. I thought it made for a great photo op.

In Motion
This photo is kind of cool and creepy all at the same time. But I thought it was a cool shot of my daughter in full motion. It was a little frustrating trying to get her to be still and smile for the camera but it did make for a great P365 photo.
Toes No Sock
Well, this photo is kind of obvious. My daughter's toes less her sock. Man, babies can wiggle their little feet out of socks faster than anything I've ever seen. Especially these cute little socks. She didn't care that they were cute. She didn't want to wear them. So naturally it was a battle of wills. I put them on her and she kicked them off. I put them on her and she kicked them and so on and so on and so on.....
Funky Monkey
This is one of my daughter's favorite toys, now. Funky Monkey is so bright and colorful. He's really fun. I thought the angle of this photo was interesting so it became my photo of the day.
I used a flash on this photo. I love the shadows cast and the way the colors stand out.

Connect the Dots
I knew I needed a Project 365 photo and was behind as it was. So when I glanced down and spied the dots on my shirt I figured why not. They were kind of interesting and might make a good shot. And we were running out the door and I thought I might not get another chance to take a photo.

Little Bitties
One of my favorite past times has become photographing my daughter. I'm constantly snapping photos of her, from her head to her feet. She's growing up so fast, and I know one day I'll look back and say, "Wow, look how little bitty she was then."
As you can tell, this is a photo of a little bitty hand and ear. So sweet. So soft. So little bitty!
I love it!

My First
This is a photo of my very first Mother's Day. I received these beautiful flowers, among other things, and spent the day with my gorgeous daughter. It was a sweet day and I enjoyed every moment.

Tilt-a-Whirl
I love this photo and all it's flaws. This is a photo of my daughter having Tummy Time for the first time. She wasn't sure she liked it. And well, I know this is a shot of her backside, but it just shows all that newness and awkwardness of being a baby.
Pieces of Flair
I liked this photo, too. So I decided to post them both!
It was a simply snap shot of the pink bandanna adorning the very masculine looking diaper bag. It's still on the bag and I just love it!

34
This was a big day. Sweet Pea was a month old on this day and we spent the day at my niece's soccer game, followed by a birthday party for my other niece. This is a photo I snapped of the back of niece while she was playing with her new cousin right before the game
Making Room
Good gracious! Those are stacks of maternity clothes. I thought it was time to clean out my closet since I was no longer pregnant. You can barely see the top of the bed between all the stacks of clothes! But I always had something to wear, even when I thought I didn't. :)
Taking A Stroll
This photo is another photo from Sims Lake, a nice little park a few miles from my house. We went out for a stroll around the lake. It was a nice spring day and perfect weather to get out of the house.
Did a slight color adjustment to blues of the water and sky using Aperture. My first time using Aperture for my photos.

Jammin'
I had to take this photo. This is our cat Pepper behind my husband's drums. Who knew that cats could play! Of course I say that totally tongue in cheek. One false move and she bolted. But just look at her... she totally looks like she owns the place right?
First Day Out!
My first day out of the house and away from my new daughter was a quick, and I mean quick, trip to Target. I <3 Target!

Binky
Ahh, Finally
I know it's been forever since I posted a photo. And, well, to be honest I fell off the wagon. It's hard to take photos when you're not even sure what day it is. However, I did continue to take photos for awhile and have even managed to take several along the way just not every day. Not that I'm sad, I love being a new mommy. It's just a major life adjustment and I'm still figuring it all out.
So with that in mind, I'm going to keep (continue, start back up) posting to the blog.
Ok, so with that in mind here's the next Project 365 photo.
During my entire pregnancy I wanted subway but never had it due to the nitrates and listeria issues. But it was heavenly when I finally did have it for the first time. Who knew that a turkey sub sandwich could taste so darn good?!

Bubble Bubble Bubble
Life Saver
Sorry, but no this isn't the candy variety of life savers. But this is a live saver of a different sort. I received this in a goodie bag when my dh and I attended the Baby Expo back last September. This little gem is a bracelet that lets you know the last time you feed baby, and if your nursing, which side you feed baby on. And trust me, when you're sleep deprived those two things are really hard to remember. That's why this little bracelet was my life saver. I still use it in fact.
Not Really Antique
This is a photo of my baby's Snuggle Bunny and pacifer. They were sitting on my dresser and so I just snapped a shot of them. Once I saw the cross stitch in the background I thought it would look really cool with an antique filter and some slightly blurred edges. So... That's what I did. And I think it turned out really cool, even if it's not really an antique.

I Have A Yearning
After I got home from the hospital and was on my own I realized that I wasn't as smart as I thought I was. Actually, I'm pretty stupid. Having a newborn makes that fact blatantly clear.
This photo is a stack of books that I was pouring over trying to gleam some spark of knowledge because by this time I was yearning for something that might help give me a clue. The clue I got was that I can't learn it from a book. Only through experience.
Lights Out
I haven't posted a photo in a while. Truth be told, since April 4th things have been crazy and a lot of things have slipped, including Project 365. But I have taken some photos and I plan to post those as well as get back into the swing of things.
So with that being said, here's another shot.
This is not a great picture. I know that. But this does ring true to how that day went. We had some wicked bad storms roll through our area and then a few days later a lessor storm hit. It was during the lessor storm that we lost power. We kept thinking it'd come back but didn't. At the time I took this picture we'd been without power for 24 hours. The amazing thing here is that the phone in my office still kept a charge and I was able to capture the time.

A New Kind of First
I took this photo while giving my daughter her very first bath. After I took the image and looked at it I was in love with the photo. I happened to snap the shot at the same time a drop of water hit and created the ripple. That along with the Rubber Duckie and wash cloth just make me smile. I'll always look fondly at this image. We always remember our firsts.
Pretty Bird
As I mentioned I'm skipping forward with some of the photos taken in April. This one is one I took after we got back home from the hospital. It's not a real bird, but this little bird is a life saver.
Our Pack 'n Play has a music feature on it and this little birdie will play ambiance sounds, like birds chirping or water running. We love this birdie.
I thought about taking this image and cropping it so that just the bird was visiable but then decided against it. I like the way this panel is off center kind of like my brain in those first days home from the hospital with a newborn.

And Counting
I took this photo on April 1st for two reasons - 1) My due date was in April and this was sort of the start of the real countdown, the I could go into labor at any minute countdown and 2) Because several people kept saying I was going to go into labor on April 1st, which didn't happen.
However, I did not expect to be admitted to the hospital on April 2nd and have my baby on April 4th.
I think I should also say here that this is the point where things changed as far as the project goes. Photos for April will be sparse because I can't really remember a good part of the month because there for a while all the days sort of just ran together. But I will post the images I remembered to take and things will get more on track. I know that's bending the rules of the project but sometimes you just gotta bend to keep from breaking.
Oh and sorry for the poor quality of the shot. It is as it was taken because I haven't had time to do any processing to it and the shot wasn't a very good one to begin with.

Can I Make It?
This is the start of a knitted baby hat. I thought I had time to knit this up before I went into labor, after all I had two weeks and two weekends before the big day. Only things didn't happen as planed and the hat didn't get finished in time... and still isn't finished. I will finish it however... one day.

Something Different
After months of drinking water and pretty much nothing else, I was dying for something a little different. So while I was shopping one day I happened to see those instant coffee mixes and the word "Decaffeinated" jumped out at me. So I was reeled in and had to buy it. It was a very nice change of pace.
Almost There
Forgotten Favorite
Notice any trends developing in my photos? As I approached the end of my pregnancy, I focused a lot more on food. This is one of a forgotten favorite. I can't believe my hubby remembered I loved peanut butter and marshmallows. But he did and he bought me some as a special treat. He's so good.
I took a few shots of the marshmallow goodness and liked this one the best because of how the marshmallows become more clear as you move from front to back.

Back To Business
This day I was working from home and doing all the things I needed to do for work and for my maternity leave. It was a crazy busy day. It also just so happened I had my camera right there so I pulled it out and snapped some photos of my desk. I decided against the photo I was going to post because it had some personal information exposed. But this one isn't too bad itself.

Sims Lake
The DH and I took off this morning to Sims Lake Park. A park that isn't too far from our house. This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last. I chose this photo as the photo of the day because I like the way the trees are reflected in the lake and how you can see the light layer of fog rolling over the water.
